One other data point to add to this. The OP may find it difficult to find a UA agent that knows how to use the system to do this ticket exchange and rebooking.

It is interesting that the 2008 version of the alliance endorsement agreement explicitly calls out SQ as an exemption.

If I were the OP, I would not take the 2008 version as the word of god, since it is pre-TK joining the alliance. It would be nice to have the latest version, showing that TK has adopted this agreement.
