I've been hesitating to pull the trigger and upgrade my 3GS model to the new IOS4.

I read a slew of horror stories online where various people ran the upgrade and found everything from email to MMS to even basic functionality broken.

The consensus seems to be to set the phone up as a new device and resync to bring back apps, music, etc - but that means losing all stored SMS and the hassle of having to save all the photos off to a folder. The photos I can probably deal with - losing the SMS will be an issue.

So - assuming the rule that much of what gets reported online is negative because people are more likely to complain than to praise, I'd be interested in taking a poll here from 3GS users who did the upgrade - what was your result?
