There IS an indication of what type of fare it is...you just didn't look in the right place.

Click on "Restrictions," which is conveniently linked right next to the alert fare. It lists fare basics like max/min stay requirements, Saturday stay requirements, flight number restrictions, change fees, etc.

You'd also see the second bullet point, which clearly states:

•Fares shown are each way, based on round-trip Business class travel purchased on AA.com.


(By the way, there's a separate Fare Sale alert price for BOS-BRU in Y for $323.)
