I think it's reasonable to say that right now, Bangkok is mostly back to its usual self. Until the next round, which there must surely be at some point. I don't think any local, expat, or Thai-watcher feels that everything is politically resolved and there will be peace forevermore throughout the Kingdom. However, I would feel comfortable going to Bangkok now (well, actually I am in a couple of weeks!) and wouldn't hesitate to send friends or family there now. As always for Thailand or elsewhere in the developing world, keeping abreast of local political events is a good idea as one prepares for a trip, and watching for a build-up of local tensions or escalating events.
