Bangkok is safe now

I just returned from Bangkok. It is safe now there. NO problem at all! By the way, foreigners have never been a target in the political unrest anyway. I was in Silom road the end of May when 5 grenades exploded. Result: 80 people wounded and 1 dead. I was just lucky to be inside a shop, but I was not the target to be. There were other protesters in the street. Best thing to do for a tourist during political unrest is to stay away from the affected areas, so that you won't become a victim by accident. I can understand that expats think that the Western media blew things out of proportion. It also depends on which TV channel you were looking. Al Jazeera did the best reports. CNN was just overreacting as if all of Thailand was in war already. Please be reminded that the occupied area by the red shirts is only a small area compared to the big size of Bangkok with more that 10 million people. After the crack down on the red shirts, there is no problem anymore. Live is back to normal now. Let's hope they can keep it that way
