GSO FS, a few years ago, when I used to stay there often...

First incident: I checked in around seven at night with a miserable cold. Told the desk clerk that I was hungry, sick and just needed a nap. Within two minutes of walking into the room, a bowl of soup and two scoops of vanilla ice cream were delivered to my room. The woman at the front desk thought that would make me feel better, and it did.

Second incident: Checked in at eleven at night on a miserable travel day that happened to also be my birthday. Cake with candle were awaiting my arrival. As a special treat, they put me up in the Presidential Suite.

Different Hotel - International Location, but I don't want to embarrass anyone but myself, so won't say where: Needed some trip advice, asked the Concierge (not in the lounge, but in the lobby) and got very nice service. We tipped the Concierge, but weren't really clear on the exchange rate. Shortly after that, I discovered that the tip was in excess of $200. In a country where that's not just a lot of money, that's a bucket of money. Needless to say, we got EXCELLENT service thereafter.
