hmmm.... well between the SWUs and the being first in line for regular upgrades, I'm leaning towards doing this now....

When I say go a "little out of my way", what's going on basically is I've been considering a trip to Europe. Very much on the fence about whether it's worth it to go, for a number of reasons. Anyway, I think if it weren't for the 1K thing, I would probably just say, forget about it. But since I'm already on the fence anyway, if the 1K thing will help out with upgrades, it may be enough to push me to do it. Basically, the thought of the long plane flight, etc., kills me... but on the other hand that thought could help me realize that I could use the 1K help next year to make flights less painful!!!!

I was frankly surprised to look at my accrual history and notice the 50% mileage bonus for tickets in B, Y economy.... I didnt expect that and it does make it easier to get to 1K this year. I had noticed comments about a 50% mileage bonus for certain classes, but I was assuming that this was business only, and that the miles were the worthless spendable miles rather than the more valuable EQM.

Anyway it's safe to assume that the value of all miles will decrease over time... mile inflation. Shouldnt keep too many miles in the account, look for ways to spend them. Which should push me to go for 1K so at least I can spend the miles on upgrades before they're totally worthless.
