Renaissance Riverside Saigon. Security doorman Tran Xuan Phat is now a good friend after several stays. On previous visits, Phat has personally helped me book sightseeing tours, taken me on his motorcycle for shopping trips in and around Saigon (when not on duty, of course) and, best of all, got me a Marriott Family Associate rate for 3 nights for $30 per night. He has never charged me a cent for his services and even refuses my tips! We stay in contact by email and always catch up when I am staying at the Renaissance.
