Hi all,
I think it is great that AP takes the initiative to contact those within its program in hope to better it, but I also agree with other members that the current incentive to complete the surveys is limited, and the length of them too long.
But more importantly, I'm curious to know how many of you think the data collected in the survey are actually used as a reference for program changes? And also, to those who actually do the survey, do you actually answer the questions honestly, or are you just clicking on the bubbles randomly as they appear?
It's true the offer of 25 miles is not enough incentive for anyone to take the time (at least 25 min...) to complete the full survey. I think, at some point (perhaps even as one begins the survey...) or somewhere after the 5 min mark... the whole process becomes boring and tedious, and you just want it to end.
In the worse case scenario, rather than doing the survey properly, it will result in random clicking and answering of questions. This is not beneficial to both AP and us as AP members - AP will be collecting data that does not reflect what member actually thinks; and if changes / adjustments to the program are made base on these surveys, they won't reflect what members actually want or need.
So, some suggestions:
AP, make your survey
SHORTER (or at least provide a
% completed progression bar so I know how much more time is required...), and provides a better incentive. Or soon enough, all the data you are collecting won't be reflecting what members actually think / do.
Members, if you are going to do the survey, I think its important that you do it properly and honestly. Otherwise, changes or adjustments to the program might not end up being what we would want or rather what that random bubble you had clicked on in a previous survey...
Just my 2 cents. Please don't flame me~ =)
Michael
