Quelle calisse de messages! I guess that's what I get for bringing my laptop with me to Italy

Fortunately for me I'm 6 hours ahead of y'all in Toronto so I already enjoyed my beautiful day before writing these messages

First of all, in response to BlondeBomber's comparisons of Aeroplan vs. AAdvantage such as:

not a big deal--SEs get Concierge Service
Here you're comparing SE with AAdvantage Platinum when I was comparing Elite with Platinum.

and

And if you make it to 150k status miles, you will be ahead of the 100% mileage bonus you get with AA
Again, this is comparing SE (>100k status miles) with Platinum.

and

Makes it tougher to requalify if J class travel gets no COS bonus counting towards status
Actually, if all your travel is in J on AA, you can earn Platinum status faster - by flying only 28,000 miles (for Canadians). If all your travel is in F, 23,334 miles.

Also, you cannot compare AA's VIPOW sytemwides (only applies to Exec Plats anyway) with AC's systemwides because with AA you can upgrade from any fare, including Net SAAvers.

In response to After Burner's comments about not being able to earn AA miles for BA transatlantic travel - C'était dommage, but this has been common knowledge since the beginning of oneworld. Hopefully this yucky rule will change soon.

But yes, it all boils down to where you travel and the kind of fares one purchases. The majority of my travels are to SXM, AUA (both of which are not served by AC scheduled service), MIA, and Southwestern US. Also, being a poor student, I only purchase the lowest available fares. This is why AAdvantage works well for me.
