While I haven't (& probably never will ) had the opportunity to fly SH with BA, now that you mention it, I recall that EI do the same thing with the seatbelt bong, just prior to takeoff, on the A320/1’s. Don’t think they do the second one for wheels up though. But will observe closely the next time.
