Thanks for the feedback folks...I have booked a future weekend stay at Golden Sands (Shangri La) which is in the vicinity, and even though I'd prefer to accrue points in priority club I think I'll keep it. Shangri-La properties I've stayed at rarely disappoint...

(does anyone know if the night market runs in front of golden sands as well?)
