Alta is fantastic, but they don't allow boarders (I made the switch about 10 years ago). Snowbird is a good alternative. The downside is both are small resorts.

Park City is large with a decent variety in terrain. Lots of blue runs, with Jupiter offering hours of fun for the advanced skier/boarder.

Deer Valley is the most posh of all the resorts. Skiers only. The runs are fine, but generally a bit boring. Deer Valley takes the prize for best food, hands-down.

The Canyons is pretty blah, IMO, though with the Waldorf now open, I'm guessing the food options are better than they were.

Solitude and Brighton are also small resorts, yet they also lack the more advanced terrain characteristic of Alta and Snowbird. They offer the cheapest ticket prices.

A fantastic, underrated, and less well-known Utah resort is Snowbasin, though access is not as easy as the above-mentioned resorts. If you are staying in SLC, Snowbasin might be a bit too far. If you stay in Park City (which I would), you can just wake up an hour early and make a full day of it.
