How long of a flight? Time of the flight? What type of service? Economy, Business Class or First Class? I am assuming Economy.
If it is a long flight (more than 3 hours), I will do 3+1 so that the two adults can have the aisle seats if you have to get up to go to the lavatory to change diapers, walk back and forth the aisle while holding the 3-MO old, etc.
If you can get your seats in the bulk-head row, you don't have to worry about your 3.5 YO kicking the seat in front of her.
