If the TSA is worried about what one passenger might assault another passenger with, they are doing a miserable job. Many items that can be used to hurt / kill someone are allowed on the plane.
Might I suggest that the TSA's job is to protect against a terrorist gaining control of or attempting to destroy the plane.
