It's not just AY. This is a perennial complaint of mine with JAL. And some posts in the ANA forum relate similar experiences (3-4 hours to complete meal service).

It makes me appreciate the airlines that offer an "all-at-once" meal option as an alternative to the multicourse meals. Unfortunately, JAL does not...
