Thanks for the feedback. Maldives is so much more beautiful and luxurious than Bali (the Australian Ibiza or Cancun!) I am surprised CX can put on daily 744 to DPS but cant find space for even a weekly 777 service there. It is a badly served destination in general only SQ has good service. EK and QR have service but they have no alliance connections so not good for us FTers who like to use miles to get everywhere!
Simple, Maldives are not as world famous as Denpasar, so it gets less flights. If Maldives is as world famous and attracts millions of tourists a year, then there will be more flights. To offer the supply you need to have demand.
Many parts of Indonesia are best kept secrets, not just Maldives. In my opinion Long-bok (spell?) is the best tourist island and barely anybody outside of Indonesia has heard of it. Which is great in my opinion, just me and a few well-educated tourists. Denpasar is over-commercialized and too many tourists to be attractive in my opinion.
