I've this happen to a mate of mine. We got to LHR 2 hrs before. Humongous lines for a CX flight, right next to AA's checkin desk. Didn't get to the desk until about 45 minutes before. No seats left, despite confirmed booking. After a bit of hassle he eventually got on.
But what I'm questioning is if they have these cutoff times and are slow in processing the lines, who's fault is that?
