Oh, I know how nice that stuff is! My parents used to have a restaurant and before they sold it I stocked up on a few key items, including the industrial strength wrap. It's been 9 years since it was sold, and I still have enough of that and aluminum foil for probably another 19 years. My wife curses about the foil every time she uses it because the box probably weights 12-15 pounds

The ice cream trays are wrapped in multiple layers to cover the ice cream and hold the dry ice on top. We try to get all of it off but it REALLY sticks to glass so sometimes a piece gets away. At least it's food grade so it's not 'dirty'.
If it's that much of an issue for the in-flight crews to remove, shouldn't other packaging options be evaluated?
