MLE has demand from HKG, but not so significant so as to sustain a nonstop flight. In local newspapers in HKG, I frequently see tours to the Maldives using either SQ (usually) or MH. ex-HKG, HKT, DPS, CEB and SYX has more demand (personal observations).
