There is a VERY high chance of getting a lie-flat 752 on the EWR-LIM flight as it is usually operated by the aircraft that runs the late LHR-EWR flight. As for it being "a shame" that the service is inconsistent, I suppose so, but the product on that flight is not so bad, especially if you're not counting on the EUA to get into the front cabin anyways.
Having flown this route 13 times this year so far, never once did the inbound A/C being used for the EWR-LIM route come from LHR. Most of the time it came from "smaller markets" such as Manchester, Oslo, Birmingham, Glasgow, etc.
However, with each passing day you chances of getting the lie-flat increases, as it appears they have 11/41 757s complete. But I wouldn't count on it.
