These routes are run by the former NWA ETOPS planes; no AVOD, just the old ceiling monitors. The food is not a full meal -- just the sandwich type meal, especially on the return as LIH and KOA have no catering there ... so, that means anything you eat on the return was on ice during the flight over.
The seats are tiny and most uncomfortable ... especially on the red-eye overnight return.
The ONLY way this routing is good is when there is a mix-up and you get one of the BE 757s with 4-rows of BE seats; but, this is VERY rare ...
I'd suggest taking the a330 from ATL/DTW/MSP to HNL. You may be saving the interisland fare flying direct into KOA, but it's not worth the uncomfortable flight
