I would have to say that they would save a lot. Continental has stated that they don't give out their Infinite Elite status any more because once people have that status there is no reason for those people to fly them to maintain the status. We hear of lots of folks on this board who do mileage runs not necessarily for the miles but for the status. Except for those going after EXP level, those trips would go away.

I don't think that it would be fair to take it away without grandfathering in the miles to date (such as one Delta did when they switched from miles earned in any fashion to miles earned only by flying) but you never know. Remember, this is an unpublished benefit.
