This is very, very true. Westerns can pretty much do as they want. For example, I just took a flight up to Uganda. I didn't bother to check visa requirements. At the airport they wanted USD50 for a visa, which I didn't had. I tried to pay with South African Rands, but no luck.
The immigrations officer then told me to go through customs and into the arrivals hall, change money and go back all the way to immigrations. I got a handwritten note: "let him through". Now, that is something i like to see happening at LHR
