Explain the justification of mainline service between the two cities if the loads will not support it. ATL as a connecting point for Canada only makes send if you are south of ATL. Otherwise DTW, JFK or CVG make more sense.
Also, meal service should not be expected as with other international flights. They do not offer BE service on Canadian, Caribbean or Latin America routes...which is why we get space-available UGs on these routes.
My feeling is that as long as there is a first class cabin and I get an upgrade I could care less how many seats there are behind me.
