It doesn't look like the website photos -- let's put it that way. The rooms and public space feel more like a Hampton Inn than a FS Hilton to me (or maybe more like a Courtyard to be exact). The parking charges just added insult to injury. I am a fan of Homewood Suites, but haven't tried the one down there. I got laid off before I could check it out. I did stay at the Doubletree San Diego / Del Mar and found it much nicer in terms of rooms, service and the breakfast buffet was nice. Much newer property -- although it is in office park, so nothing all that close by. Likely you will have a car anyway. Parking is free there and it is very convenient to the freeway (although not close enough for traffic noise).
