I rather think the opposite. Someone who flies long-haul (particularly in paid J) will find themselves at SE levels very easily and very quickly. I think it's telling that on domestic flights it's common that an SE will find themselves alone on the plane, while on long route (YVR-SYD for example) there are usually several.
Five YYZ-SYD trips will just about do it, even at some of the lowest fare levels. If you're also getting COS bonuses for paid J/F travel, then it's even quicker.
