It's been like this for years - My corporate office is in Toronto and I fly this route.
There used to be 1 non-RJ a day - right in the middle of the day - not conducive to business travel.
With them aircraft all being CR7 or CR9 that is a 1.5 hour flight with First available. Not too bad a deal for a route which DL could only support 1 mainline RT daily on. Considering AC only put CR1/CR2 on the route seems actually like good competition.
