I would hazard a guess that you will have to be persistent. Certainly call as early as you can. Chances are you will not get it that way. Keep asking every step of the way. I recently flew YOW-YYZ-MUC. I called 4 days before and was waitlisted. Didn't get on . Asked again at YOW airport and didn't get on Asked again when I arrived at YYZ - just before boarding they called my name .
