Pretty much the only major benefit I use from BMI Gold is the guaranteed seat when buying a full fare ticket in Flex Econ or Business. When the flight I want is full, all I do is buy a Flex or C ticket on the nearest available flight and the call the ICC and they force me onto the flight I want. The benefit is great BUT the major problem is actually getting the ICC to do it. It always takes threats of name taking, demanding to talk to supervisors, even threats of a post here on FT to finally get them to agree to it. Yesterday it took nearly 40 mins, talking to three different staff and a total of 4 totally different reasons why it was impossible to achieve this before they finally conceded and did it for me.

Does anyone else have experience of using this benefit and how to make it easier?
