I'm also a non-lawyer, but I don't think they legally have to have a form signed for the contract to be valid. Because the terms of the contract can be performed within a year, the statute of frauds permits an exception to the "in writing" rule. Of course, Continental has you sign something so, if you decide to take it to court for whatever reason, they have proof that you claimed you read the T&C of the contract.
