schedule change screwing up vacation-any ideas? ?
We were scheduled to fly ORD MIA SCL PUQ on 11-1-02 using miles to upgrade ORD thru SCL. The departure time from MIA was moved back 5 minutes yet is now scheduled to arrive 24 minutes later than originally scheduled. The LAN flight to PUQ leaves at 11am so we are no longer within the legal connection time. We are 14 minutes short of the required 90 minutes.
AA says my choices are to take LAN from MIA to SCL with no upgrade or take the original flight, upgrade, spend 8 hours in SCL, catch a later flight to PUQ and miss seeing the penguins in PUQ.
Does anyone have any ideas? Would it be possible to make the connection to PUQ with 76 minutes connection time? Since LAN is part of OW would it be possible to re-schedule the flight to depart 15 minutes later? Should I try and talk to someone at AA or just forget it?
Usually I wouldn't care about losing the upgrade but this is my present to my husband for his 50th and his back kills him after 8 hours crammed in back. We have a very short time in PUQ before departing for Torres del Paine.
Sorry this is so long. I really would appreciate any ideas.
