And my point was that the pilot had plenty of other things to do during those 20 minutes, and that 20 minutes of non-communication is not that big of a deal. I read that the 20 minutes was the time of non-communication, not the length of the delay.
While I always appreciate updates, I also realize that making the passengers aware of what's happening isn't always at the top of the "to-do" list for pilots.
Sorry, I have to disagree. You have a pilot and a co-pilot. It takes all of 15-30 seconds to make a short announcement to inform your paying passengers. I find this unacceptable with any airline. Heck, the FA's knew what was happening and if the pilots were really too busy, then a FA could have easily made a quick announcement.
