Just finished JFK/LGB run and learned from the pilot's announcement that the "sit-down-and-stay-down" 30-Minute Rule is a result of the the new nationwide alert system. As of 9/11, JFK was placed on CODE ORANGE, the second highest alert status...not sure how long this is going to be in place, however.
