What an informative first post, diskworld3, and welcome to FT!
I hadn't noticed any announcement of the change, though given the dual pricing aspect (same price at Dixons airport stores whether 'tax free' or not), I suppose it doesn't really come as a surprise. It does make a nonsense of BAA's price parity policy, though, except perhaps that's no longer promoted? (BAA used to claim that retail stores at BAA airports charged the same prices as high street stores less the calculated VAT component.)
About Apple setting the prices, are they or Dixons exempt from the law? Retail price maintenance was abolished some years ago, with some exceptions such as newspapers and drugs.
