Reckon she doesn't have a case - EU law covers this sort of thing and the basic is that if someone can't do things like board themselves, get off the plane by themselves (including in an emergency) then they have to travel with a companion.

Checked a number of airline websites and whilst the wording isn't the same, the intent is. And it doesn't apply to just Europe
