For those not familiar with the Verizon version of the BB Tour, it is triple-mode CDMA, GSM, and 3G/UMTS. It is also multi-frequency except that it doesn't support the GSM/3G frequency used in the US, so inside the US you only can get Verizon service.

In Japan, the collaborating partner if you use the Verizon supplied SIM is NTT DoCoMo.

After you have been a Verizon customer for a while and paid your bills, Verizon will give you the unlocking code for the SIM part for free.
