I found it very hard to get any domestic *A availability in China (certainly through BD), so ended up getting a relatively obscure OZ flight ICN-KWL, spending a day in Yangshuo, and then flying from Guilin onwards to Kunming and points beyond.

I had planned on using the train more (the fast rail link from Dali through to Lijiang Dong is now fully operational - with a couple of overnighters from Lijiang through to Kunming) but sadly, as it was just before CNY, I found it hard to get tickets.
