I've come across several threads with a similar theme here.

I don't consider myself a newbie, but I can't figure out how to find biz travel on *A partners for fewer miles than offered at UA directly.

Could someone just point me to an informational thread?

I'd be interested in paid fares with guaranteed upgrade for miles, or if I have to, Biz with miles only. We've got 750K Mileage Plus miles between us.

We're interested in West Coast SMF/SFO/OAK to LHR this July/August if that helps at all.
