I regard IAD A-gates as a special version of hell.

To each their own
It's been a few years but I used to hit the UX IAD hell once a month or so, DAY-IAD. This was back when it was mostly turboprops (Saab 340?) on the route. Seems like every time the waiting area was noisy, hot, the smell of what seemed to be dirty diapers, and a confused boarding process. Went through there a couple months ago and it seemed marginally better but still not my preference.

UX is fine for my frequent legs through ORD, but those 3 hour+ grinds on CR7 or E70 leave much to be desired, IMO.
