Trust me, I was very surprised. I started to stow my stuff very close to landing. Since no announcement had been made I started by myself thinking I missed it. To my surprise one of the crew making the final inspection told me to 'leave it, no problem'. When I wanted to leave it for takeoff as well the (new) crew where appalled that I landed that way.

I just figured 'Hey, this is South America. Probably the rules are more relaxed here!'
