A shar pei puppy in Cuba. Not in an animal crate, just in a box, and he was popped on the conveyor belt along with everything else. We could hear him yapping all the way off in the distant bowels of the airport, and it was the first thing we heard when we got to baggage reclaim as well. Poor thing must have been terrified.

Mind you, on the same flight, there was a woman with various birds, from parrots up to budgies with her in the cabin. They were in little individual cardboard boxes and got stowed in the over head bins.
