ETA: If you have miles with DL or *A (or friends with the same), I would advise you to get a flight into or out of Lijiang. Both MU (DL partner) and FM (*A member) have nonstop flights, which are almost always full fare. You can even tack such flights onto your international award tickets (e.g. SFO-PVG-Lijiang).
