In that case 9 out of 10 bags will be stopped. Do you have any clue what the lines would look like if we did this? Now I have no problem if management said to stop every bag with a LGA in it and not use any kind of discretion, but that's not the case. Will some things that are larger than 3.4oz get through? They sure do. Has it take down any airplanes? Nope, not yet. The terrorists just want us to live in fear. They win. They won on 9/12/01 when no airplanes were in the air at all; And when people were afraid to get onto an airplane after they were allowed to take to the skies again, and people seem to forget that.
But do remember this, if you ever encounter me and give me a p*&S poor attitude(mind you that I am always respectful to you until you give me reason otherwise), 3.4oz and it needs to be in the bag, and you may be asked to step back out to submit your items in the proper manner for screening, to be cleared. (I've never had anyone go back out to do it the right way, but I'm just sayin...)"
So, based on your experience, do you clear LGA inside a bag that appears to be within the 3-1-1 limitation based on X-ray image alone? If so, do you then let the pax know to pull them out next time or not? Do you call a bag check when there is a single LGA item like shaving cream and you determine that it is possibly oversize? How about when they pull the 3-1-1 bags out and there is more than 1 bag. Do you call a bag check to see if there are multiple family members or not?
