There was a directive from the highest level at RCL to stop heavy discounting several years ago. I am not talking about the token discount for booking on board your current cruise or, or the frequent Crown and Anchor cruiser credit. The goal was early booking discount only. I know they really made an effort at following through. Obviously from a business point of view it makes sense. I always think supply and demand rules in the end and RCL alone has just created a huge number of cabins (supply). I am biased and I think RCL has lost me as customer just when I turned Dimond plus. All over stupid access to concierge club. For now on it is six star and none of that R line stuff RCL rebranded.
