Attributing the horrid way U.S. airlines treat their customers to customer price resistance doesn't seem to explain why non-US airlines, especially Asian ones, don't treat them that badly. (In the last customer survey of air travel I saw, the rating of the tenth airline on the top ten non-US airlines list was higher than the rating of the first airline on the top ten US airlines list!)
