Delta is a partner of Hawaiian. (FYI, I think the only European airline they partner with is Virgin). When you re-check your bags in Minneapolis (after clearing customs), you should be able to check your bags straight through to Maui. (AA does this, so I would assume their other domestic partners do also.)
