You know that and I know that, but the dozen or so people willingly checking their bags were clueless.

At the very end of boarding, and it had to be the end because I had already switched seats per the GA (see other thread), a pregnant woman - an eight month plus pregnant woman - with a Samsonite hardsider came and started to put her bag in the bin above me. Although my rule is always "if you can't lift it, you should check it" in the heat of the moment I created a pregnancy exception and offered to put her bag up. She wound up being the last passenger to board a full plane, and because of what the GAs did there was room for her bag. It had to be placed sideways, and there was still room.

Bravo to those GAs.
