REI has a lot of various sized tubes/containers etc. made for both travelers and weight consciousness backpackers. I've got several that are ~3oz, some fairly rigid (bath gel/alcohol) and some very flexible (tooth paste/lotion). All have removable lids and decent sized openings for refilling. I suppose other camping/outdoor rec stores would have similar products.
I have a set, though not from REI, and they are very handy. ^ The fly in the ointment comes when some security agent is overly officious and wants to know/test what's in the no name bottles/tubes. I've had a few subject me to a closer scrutiny that they likely wouldn't have with a right sized toothpaste tube from the manufacturer, though luckily it's not been much more than a second look and no rubber gloves were necessary
