Both times, a change was made to my reservation (once, an involuntary rescheduling and once, an upgrade).
I'd rather just check in at a kiosk tomorrow than deal with yet another phone call, but will I have problems?
(Also, just curious: "API OK" has started appearing on my boarding passes; what does this mean?)

Can't answer about the kiosk question. API OK stands for "Advanced Passenger Information OK". Required for international flights (though not sure if that includes US-Canada and US-Mexico flights or not) though I think I've heard of some non-international passengers ending up with it occasionally.
